051 Dublin Camogie Team (1984)
In 1984 Dublin won the Camogie All-Ireland Championship when they defeated Tipperary by 5-9 to 2-4 in Croke Park. Dublin collected the O’Duffy Cup for a record 26th time. The 1984 win was part of a remarkable era for camogie in the capital when Dublin contested five All-Ireland finals in a row from 1982 to 1986. The team was managed by Christy Hayes who was a member of the last Dublin hurling team to contest an All-Ireland Final in 1961.
This is one of a selection of photographs from the Dublin City Council Photographic Collection celebrating the proud sporting heritage of Dublin.
