Slide DS02_07: 29 Dame St; B. Hyam’s Dublin Clothing Establishmentv1850s
Messrs Moses & Son established the tailor and gentlemen’s outfitter at 29 Dame Street in 1845, but Mr. B. Hyam took over the business in 1848. He advertised in newspapers and even on walls of disused buildings, hoping to draw in the middle class. The shop grew until it employed nearly 50 people, all working together to provide menswear, children’s suits and hosiery for the denizens of Dublin.
