LF01-16 Afternoon Outing Dress
Dressed for a typical afternoon outing in 1909, this model is sporting a coat and skirt in champagne-coloured cloth, trimmed with black straps and buttons. Atop her head she is wearing a champagne-coloured brimmed hat with brown feathers to shield the sun. The skirt is actually quite plain, but the Hanoverian style with a jabot, or the frilling that decorates the front of a shirt, of the same period creates more of an elegant air for a walk about the town or trip to afternoon tea.
